In honor of International Women’s Day (yesterday).

I often feel that my generation of women were brought up to believe that all the previous work done for women made it possible for us to “do anything.” The realization that this is not entirely true is a disappointing reality. There is, of course, so much more work to be done. Here. There. And Everywhere.  I hope that the legacy of women like Hillary, as well as those she and Michelle honored yesterday, will enable my daughter to feel a little bit less disappointment when she takes on the important task of being a strong woman in society. I hope I am able to surmount the obstacles I see, so that she has not only cultural and historical models but one at home too.
